We're back from vacation..everybody had to get back into the work/school groove
this week...UGH! Morgan had her final swim session today at Wingate University.
The swim team there puts on a swim camp every spring...Morgan loved it! She came
home with a couple of medals today too, which made it extra-great for her. She is all
about the awards!!

This is Morgan with her swim buddy...Kelly.

Morgan collecting her medals...
Have a great weekend!

Doesn't she look cute in her uniform?

Kari & Kijsa are having a spring front door parade at their blog http://kariandkijsa.blogspot.com/ This what I did to add a little spring to our front door. I had an antique empty picture frame and a grapevine wreath, some flowers and a little bird..this is what I came up with. I can't take credit for the idea though...I'm pretty sure I saw the idea on another blog....can't remember which one.

Alexa let me do a little impromptu photo shoot this weekend. My girls are reluctant models...they never want me to take their picture, so I was really happy when she agreed...I wanted to practice my photography skills...I think they turned out great! It makes me a little teary though, she is so close to graduation and making decisions about her future...I just want to seize the moments right now and enjoy her as much as I can while I have her....We're off to Morgan's first baseball game...I'll post some pics later....

Doesn't this look like a cozy place for a little girl (or a big girl) to hide away? It's almost 2 am...I can't sleep....I found this surfing the net....Isn't it just so pretty? :)

Hello March....

March came in like a lion....the snow started falling around 6:30 last night and fell and fell and fell...I think we have about six inches....The girls are upstairs sleeping like lambs....so excited about having a snow day today.

IKEA opened in Charlotte last week...WOO HOO!!! We went on Saturday...let me tell you...it did not look like we were in a recession there! The place was packed...30 cash registers open and ALL of them had a line...It was so worth the trip and the hustle and bustle...I'm not sure if Mike would agree...Fun Stuff and good prices....

Morgan was even feeling the love for IKEA...well for the first hour anyway...
I bought this little organizer thing below....It is supposed to be for a kitchen, but I hung it above my scrapbooking desk....Love it! Less than $20 for the whole set up....

I think I may have to go back soon!!

There comes a time in life when
you have to let go of all the pointless drama
& the people who create it
& surround yourself with people
who make you laugh so hard
that you forget the bad and focus solely on the good.
After all, Life is too short to be anything but happy.
Isn't that the truth? Love this quote!

I had such a great time in Nashville with my friend....Joy.
She is my oldest friend...As a matter of fact, I don't remember NOT knowing her.
She knows ALL my secrets....
We had such fun shopping and going to thrift stores...
We stayed up until the wee hours of the morning every night..
talking and talking and talking....
I love this girl!

Snow Day

The girls were so excited yesterday....the weatherman was predicting two to four inches of snow for our area...We woke up this morning and the snow was really coming down! This was their first snow day EVER!! Morgan was beyond excited when she woke up...she was squealing when she looked out and saw all the snow....

Alexa had her friend Claire over to spend the night...they were out around one o'clock this morning checking out the snow.....They went sledding today. Alexa said snow days are "awesome"!!

Morgan had so much fun just out running around and playing in the snow...We had a snowball fight and tried to build a snowman...It was small...there wasn't quite enough snow...She didn't mind though.....

That is a look of pure JOY on her face....

After we played in the snow, we came in to thaw out a bit...Morgan and I made snowman cookies to top off the day....

It was a really fun day...I hope we
have more snow this season!

Such a beautiful song....Love it....

Have you read The Shack?
I just finished it.....Wow....it was great! I was a little reluctant to read it at first. The story line just didn't seem like the "typical" book that I would enjoy. I had also heard about the controversy that surrounds it....but oh am I glad I did! It was definitely one of the best books I've ever read. Now I know it's fiction, but boy did it strike a cord with me. There were nuggets of truth woven into the book.
If you haven't read it yet, run don't walk and go get it!

I love to read blogs....I love to see all the great decorating ideas and inspiring craft projects.
A lot of blogs however portray beautifully decorated homes, smiling children, up-to-date scrapbooks....a picture of perfection....Well in the interest of "keeping it real"....I don't want to give off the vibe that my life is perfect....so here is the real deal this week....
I am really behind on my laundry...I mean really.
This is what my family room has looked like since Christmas...since Christmas people!

I have yet to completely unpack my suitcase from our trip to Florida....We've been home a week...That's sad people....
I really should get up and unpack that suitcase....
Or maybe I can just do it tomorrow...

Happy 2009!

Happy New Year!! We had a wonderful Christmas and hope you did as well....We spent Christmas Eve and Christmas Day at home. Then, we headed off to Florida to spend time with our family.....We had a wonderful time celebrating there with them....
Now, we're home and saying goodbye to our decorations and getting back into the groove of things....I love Christmas. I also love to put away the decorations and get things back to normal.
I love the New Year and all the possibilities it brings....

Someone very special had a birthday this weekend....Morgan turned twelve on Saturday! I can't believe she is twelve....We celebrated in Florida with her friends with a movie party and then we celebrated again when we got home...just the family. She wanted to spend the day at home and go out for dinner...Her restaurant of choice Nothing but Noodles...one of her new favorite places to go. She requested a chocolate cake with chocolate icing with sprinkles, which I happily obliged. We love you Morgan!!
